Darklord's Story

Chapter 5

It was a long journey, but Christien and his friends eventually made it. They were now in the valley of ice. A place where the sun only shines for part of the year. This was the season for sun and so they would be in the sun all day and night. It didn't take long to find Silverblades hut. They simply asked the first village they came to, and the villagers pointed them in the right direction.

They approached the small ice hut, half of it was built into the side of a large hill. On either side of the door was a pole with a animal skull on the top. They were about to knock on the door when it opened and out came a small, fat Cicerian.

Cicerians were furry creatures. They mainly lived in colder areas. They were known for their great fighting capabilities. They have flat faces, only 2 nostrils for a nose. They had very sharp teeth, mainly because they were carnivores, very small ears at the side of the head which were covered by their long fur. Some had long tails, others had none. Their warriors usually had their tails removed. They had long claws on their hands which only had 4 fingers and one thumb. The ranged in sizes from 4 - 7 feet tall. This particular Cicerian had dark, brown fur and was about 5 feet tall and was rather chubby for a Cicerian. Most Cicerian warriors were tall and muscular, this one was quite unusual. However, Christien had never seen a Cicerian, so to him this was normal.

"Who are you?" barked the Cicerian.

"I'm Christien deLioncourt and these are my friends.."

"What do you want?" interrupted the Cicerian.

"We've come looking for you. Sir Dracius told us you would train me in how to fight.."

"Sir Dracius, eh? Hmmm, let me have a look" interrupted the Cicerian. He put his hands behind his back and circled Christien. He stood in front of Christien and thats when he noticed the amulet hanging from his neck. He picked it up and held it in his hands. He recognized the crest of The Order.

"Ahhh, you wear the crest. You must be the one then. I guess the prophecy has come true. So now its my turn to train you is it? Well its not gonna be easy, and you will get hurt in the process, but when I'm done with you, you'll be the greatest warrior, next to myself of course" said the Cicerian. "Now, you may only call me Silverblade. You can share my hut for now. Your friends can find somewhere to stay in the village. Actually, come to think of it, there's a small hut 5 miles east of here. Your friends can stay there if they wish. Its on my land so don't worry about anything. Do you know how to hunt?" said Silverblade.

"No, the food was always provided for me" said Christien.

"Well, we'll have to remedy that then. If you want to survive, your gonna need to hunt. Now come inside, we have much to do. Tell your friends they can go find their hut and supplies can be gotten in the village" said Silverblade and with that he went inside.

"Would you like us to stay and wait for you?" said one of the elves.

"No, I'll be fine. You guys go ahead and find that hut" answered Christien and he went inside.

Days had passed and Christien had learned how to build his own weapons using metals, wood, stone and other materials. However, he had no idea how to use them. Silverblade had said the greatest warriors made their own weapons and when they used them, they would become a part of them, as it was made from their own sweat and blood.

Months had passed and Christien had learned how to use his weapons and how to hunt. He was now becoming a warrior. His skills were impressive and he was even able to defeat Silverblade with most of the weapons, except the sword. But he was determined to become a master at the sword and so he practiced every chance he got. As part of his training, he learned the ways of a warrior. He learned his skills were only to be used to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves, to protect the innocent and defeat the evil. He was taught to never start a fight, but to finish it and to never kill unless it was necessary. He learned not only weapons, but strategy and how to out think your opponent, to predict their next movements. As part of his training, he battled some of the greatest Cicerian warriros and he defeated them all. He would also lead small army's in mock ups of battles and he became a great leader.

Finally news about what happened to the forest came to Christien and his friends and this angered them. They no longer had a home to go back to, but they still had a world to fight for. Christien was still unable to understand his role and why he was the only one able to defeat the evil ruling his world, but he wanted to try now more then anything. And so, he gathered a small army made up of his friends and some of the greatest Cicerian warriros. Leading this small army was Christien and Silverblade. And finally the time had come. They gathered what they needed and headed back to where they came from, to defeat Zoreal and restore order and peace.

Along their way, they would defeat small armies, freeing villages and soon, news of them would spread throughout the land. Each time they helped a village, their army would grow and soon became a huge army, on the move. But with each battle they did, they would lose some warriors.

Half way there, they had to start hiding from villages, as they were looking for Christien. The children were still being killed each day by Zoreal and the villagers wanted to put a stop to it. So now Christien had to fight off the villagers and Zoreal's armies. His situation was looking grim.

As Zoreal received news of their approach and their victories, he called upon his demons and formed the biggest army ever made. He had called back his greatest warriors and they were to lead this new army into battle with Christien and his band of rebels and destroy them.

As another punishment to the inhabitants of this world, Zoreal decided to scorch the sky. In doing this, he would block out the sun. Without it, food and vegetation couldn't grow. Villagers would start to die or would be too busy trying to survive and wouldn't join the approaching army. And so he called upon all his powers and channeled them through his staff and proceeded to scorch the sky. As the atmosphere started to burn and turn black, dark clouds would form around the globe, blocking all sunlight. And although this left him drained for a few days, it was worth it. The sky was now scorched.
